It was an evening of great food, laughter, and shared moments, but more than that, it was about recognizing the values that brought us together.

At ALBA, our culture is built on three core values: We Are All In as One Team, We Get Better Every Day, and We Stay Humble. Each value comes with three guiding mindsets, giving us nine ways to approach challenges and grow together.

One of the highlights of the evening was our Annual Awards, where colleagues were recognized for embracing the mindsets that define how we work as a team:

The workshop was facilitated by Daniel O’Conner, our Chief People Officer, and Charlene Lee, our Talent & Organizational Development Manager. It was further enriched by insights from our General Manager, Donald Lim, who shared his personal experiences and journey at ALBA IWS.

 

The workshop focused on our three core values:

  1. “We are all in as one team”
  2. “We get better every day”
  3. “We stay humble”

 

It was not the usual sit-and-listen workshop. The session included activities like team building and intellectual games, and personal sharing, making it an interactive and enjoyable afternoon. Through these exercises, we not only learned about our company’s culture but also gained insights into how we can embody these values in our daily work lives.

 

Overall, it was a fun and enlightening afternoon that reinforced the importance of our core values and how they shape our collective mindset. We look forward to applying these learnings as we work together as a cohesive team, striving for continuous improvement while maintaining humility in everything we do.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

]]> The Magic of a Mini Forest at WEEE 路 PARK! https://weee.com.hk/2024/06/29/the-magic-of-a-mini-forest-at-weee-park/ Sat, 29 Jun 2024 07:14:09 +0000 https://weee.com.hk/?p=19510 We are delighted to share that at the end of June, we have successfully planted a mini forest in WEEE 路 PARK! Over the course of two days, our dedicated team planted over 700 trees, encompassing a range of at least 45 different species.

The temperature was extremely hot during the 2 days, rising up to 34掳C at times. There were showers in the morning and the rain just stopped before we began planting.

Although the trees are still small now, they will grow up to 6 to 20 meters in height when fully grown. These trees will not only enhance the beauty of WEEE 路 PARK but also play a crucial role in cooling the area, lowering the temperature by up to 5掳C, creating a refreshing oasis for everyone to enjoy.

One of the most compelling benefits of this mini forest is the improvement in air quality it will bring to WEEE 路 PARK. The trees will release oxygen and absorb harmful pollutants, resulting in cleaner and fresher air for our colleagues and park visitors. This environmentally friendly initiative aligns perfectly with our commitment to sustainability and creating a healthier community.

Together, we are creating positive change and leaving a lasting legacy.

Lastly, we want to acknowledge the invaluable guidance from Nature Makers Lab. Their expertise was instrumental in teaching us the Miyawaki style of tree planting. Thanks to their knowledge, we have created a thriving mini forest that will bring numerous benefits to WEEE 路 PARK.

Highlights of the Evening:

  • Inspiring speech from General Manager Donald Lim, who shared the company’s key milestones and emphasized each employee’s critical role.
  • A heartfelt farewell for CFO Kitto Cheng who retired after 9 years of dedication. Kitto was recognized for his financial leadership and mentorship that has been instrumental to ALBA IWS’ success.
  • A delicious multi-course dinner at Choi Fook Royal Banquet, followed by lively entertainment, including a magic show and Bingo game.
  • Each attendee received a special early new year red pocket upon arrival at the dinner. The evening ended with an exciting raffle where lucky colleagues received grand cash prizes.
