In August 2023, ALBA IWS organized the first edition of Excellence Awards for E-waste Recycling & Management 2022, in recognition of appliance retailers and brands for their contribution to proper e-waste recycling & management. The award ceremony was well received by over 50 company representatives, including representatives from the HKSAR Environmental Protection Department and the Radio Association of Hong Kong. It was also a precious occasion for the industry players to share their experience and learn from each other.

As the licensed recycler of abandoned regulated electrical equipment in Hong Kong, we have collected and treated over 3 million pieces of e-waste in Hong Kong, ranging from air-conditioners, refrigerators, televisions, washing machines, computers, monitors, printers and scanners between 2018 and 2022. This remarkable achievement is a collective effort of our team, retail partners, brands as well as the public.

Among the total of 10 awards presented, the highest accolades go to Broadway Photo Supply Ltd and BSH Home Appliances Ltd. As the most supportive companies to ALBA Integrated Waste Solutions’ recycling work in Hong Kong, they are recognized as the Overall Champion for the retail and brand sector respectively. Regardless of the number of e-waste handed over, every supporting company is valued for their contribution.
